Shoot Wide

f/3.4 1/250 sec ISO-1600 35mm
I shot this picture at the widest angle, bringing together the size difference between the tiny pup and the giant store. "Seven Oaks" is visible in the background along with glass cases filled with jewelry. The pup's stuffed toy can be seen lying on the floor while she took a power nap.

Pup Joins Family Business at Local Jewelry Store:
Meet the newest addition to the Seven Oaks Fine Jewelers family, Berkley. At 3 months, this little pup is all joy and sunshine as she greets customers and romps around in her sparkling shop. Berkley is a Morkie, which is a cross breed between a Maltese and a Yorkshire terrier. She was an early Christmas present for Brooklyn Oaks, daughter of the store owner, and goes everywhere with her.
Part of Berkley's job is to look cute and playful, in doing this she helps customers relax. Oaks said going into a jewelry store can be intimidating, but when customers walk into Seven Oaks and see Berkley, they have something to break the ice.
A photo of Berkley with the caption, "My work partner today! Love this little [dog]!" along with the hashtags: #morkies are awesome! #utahsjeweler and #familybusiness, was posted on Seven Oaks webpage. Oaks said Berkley has become the stores 'mascot' and a member of the Seven Oaks family.

Located near Red Cliffs Mall, Seven Oaks has just celebrated their second year anniversary of opening in St. George, Utah.

Shooting the Axioms

Shallow and Deep Depth of Field

1. Egg-periment: f/3.4 1/8 sec ISO-400 35mm
The egg is in focus while the rest of the kitchen is not, creating a shallow depth of field.
Pointed in the Right Direction: f/5 1/500 sec ISO-400 35mm
Everything is in focus here with deep depth of field: my dog, my friend Lisa, and the mountain.
2. Bucky: f/3.4 1/1600 sec ISO-1600 35mm
Bucky is a spaz-tastic little fellow so it's difficult to get a clear picture of him. I did manage to snap a few pictures of him with a quick shutter speed, did you notice the snow sprinkles between his eyes!
3. Puppy Naps: f/8 1/8 sec ISO-3200 35mm
After letting Bucky indoors, I caught him shaking off as a blur due to a slow shutter speed.

4. Spaz-tastic:  f/5 1/500 sec ISO-400
One more picture of Bucky.

Self Portrait

A cheerful and optimistic person on the outside, always happy to make new friends. People have asked me if I ever stop smiling -or talking. I love helping out friends, shopping and dancing. My friends know they can count on me to listen to their problems. Keeping positive and alert does leave you drained after awhile, in my case I turn to nature for rejuvenation. Long walks, bicycle rides, hiking, or reading a book outdoors are my hobbies.
I'm happy to be attending Dixie State University -beautiful country and warm weather. I'm majoring in Multimedia Journalism so I'll see where that takes me. Adventure awaits!
